About:

       “Majal: Design as Storytelling – Crafting Meaningful Narratives Through User-Centred Design” aims to create impactful designs that resonate with users and audiences by employing a storytelling approach and user-centred design principles. Participants will engage in research, prototyping, and iterative feedback cycles to develop compelling narratives that address specific user needs and contexts. Drawing inspiration from Ellen Lipton's "Design is Storytelling" book and local community stories, the final deliverables will showcase the design process, prototypes, and documentation, providing a tangible representation of the power of design as a storytelling medium.

The program includes weekly meet-ups, guest lectures, field trips, and one-on-one mentorships. It features a mix of international lecturers and local practitioners who provide valuable insights and guidance. Participants gain diverse perspectives through guest lectures and field trips, while one-on-one mentorships offer personalised support. The program facilitates collaboration with local artisans and provides business setup and marketing support. The culmination is an exhibition where participants showcase their designs.
