About
The course will run once a week for six weeks from February 9th - March 16th, 2021 in Yateem Centre. The course targets individuals with limited background in art history, with the objective of introducing key ideas that have guided the trajectory of global art histories from ancient times to the present age. Throughout the course, there will be several links connecting historical discourse to MENA art production, enabling participants to dissect with a critical eye. At the end of the six week period, participants will develop a vocabulary and methodology to discuss art. The goal of this course is to empower the participants by deepening their understanding of artworks that may seem intimidating and to experience art in a reflective way.
