About

Al Riwaq’s legacy in Bahrain is an unfinished story. Having opened in 1998 with a major impact on the arts in Bahrain, now in 2022, Al Riwaq embarks on its most ambitious project to date. Reflecting on its history, Al Riwaq recognizes in its third decade that it must prioritize and invest in the development and educational aspect of an artist’s portfolio. Launching this new chapter in our future, Al Riwaq opens its doors in 2022 at the Bank House in Gufool.

While our core focus is on knowledge transfer and global art histories, art production and presentation will be a key component in our vision. The platform’s program will compliment the learning process through presentations, performances, talks, film screenings, and exhibitions. All of which are designed to enhance the creative experience in Bahrain.

Our beginnings will always remain integral to our identity. Take a walk down memory lane with us to see our evolution and building transitions.
