Al Riwaq Art Space

During the auction people will be able to bid and buy recycled contemporary design pieces along with paintings, sculptures and various items donated by a selected group of artists. Prior to the auction, Maha Al Sahaf, curator at Al Riwaq Art Space, has been leading a 10 day workshop for a selected group of local, regional and international artists.

They have been sketching out ideas which have been then critiqued, and the most striking concepts have been translated onto furniture items which had been provided by Al Riwaq Art Space.

The objective of the workshop was to research various ways in which the furniture items could be artistically manipulated with well thought out concepts that relate to the theme in any desired way. The final outcome will be the silent auction that will be held at Al Riwaq on Tuesday 20th April where 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Bahrain Cancer Society.

In addition, a few of Bahrain’s Artists are donating paintings and sculptures for this event, such as Khaled Farhan, Mohammed Al Mahdi and Faika Al Hassan.  Selected items at Al Riwaq’s Gift Shop have also been donated by artists such as Bahraini Jewelry Designer Rayya Fathallah; such items are tagged with yellow ribbons. This event will be running through Tuesday 27th April.
